The site is written primarily for US homeowners, tradespeople, equipment owners, truck operators, outdoor users, and buyers who work in feet, inches, pounds, mil, GSM, and ounces per square yard.
Why this site exists
Tarp listings often mix nominal sizes with finished sizes, mass with thickness, and broad material names with unsupported performance claims. Those shortcuts create avoidable mistakes: a tarp is too short in one direction, too heavy for one person, or unsuitable for the attachment method.
Our goal is narrower and more useful: separate the measurements, show the formula, explain the assumptions, and make uncertainty visible.

tarp.tools is independently operated. The site may be supported by clearly identified advertising. Advertising does not determine calculator results, article conclusions, or which sources we cite. We do not accept payment to change a technical comparison without disclosure.
What we are not
We are not a tarp manufacturer, engineering firm, carrier, safety regulator, or legal adviser. A calculator result is a planning estimate. Product specifications, equipment instructions, site conditions, and applicable safety rules take priority.
